Ivan Higuera

Ivan Higuera is an Associate Attorney at Mathews Professional Law Group, P.C.

With a far-ranging background evaluating the correctness of law, developing legal analysis, and applying law to articulate solutions regarding International Business Law, Employment Law, and Federal Anti-Discrimination Laws, Ivan integrates efficient law and fact acquisition, argument development, and timely advising at the firm.

His background includes determining applicable defenses to breach of contract lawsuits, advising on risk-management under Title IX, and drafting communications with governmental entities.  He has advised on avoiding contractual liability under pandemic-related non-performance and avoiding liability under Title IX.

Ivan is likewise passionate about providing clients the support they need to achieve their goals in an ever-changing legal landscape. Ivan centers on working with business leaders to provide them with cost-efficient solutions in business disputes, compliance, and employment law.

Due to his pragmatic and analytical background, his preparation for tackling the full gamut of civil litigation aspects including discovery and pleadings and motions is a sound value-add for the firm and the firm’s clients.

Ivan strives to further the firm’s time-tested representation of diverse clients in all degrees of complexity of subject matter, including individuals, multinational corporations, cities, government agencies, software companies, consulting companies, founders, investors, officers, directors, franchisees, employers and employees.

In addition to his biochemistry undergraduate education in which he led a Biodiesel feasibility plan for California State University, East Bay, Ivan’s robust background focuses a unique goal- and solution-oriented perspective on overcoming clients’ challenges and achieving clients’ goals.

Ivan has worked with Santa Clara University School of Law’s Katharine and George Alexander Community Law Center advising persons in need of representation on legal matters including T- and U-Visas. With his experience at Stanford University Medical Center as an English-Spanish medical interpreter and translator he has native-level proficiency in both English and Spanish.

Ivan earned his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in May of 2022.  He is licensed to practice law in California.
