Soby M. Mathews

Soby M. Mathews is a founding shareholder of Mathews Professional Law Group, P.C.

With a long and dynamic background in corporate law, employment law, and regulatory matters, Soby oversees compliance, due diligence, and audits at the firm. He has experience with I-9 audits, public access file audits, and corporate compliance. He provides practical and strategic advice on avoiding civil and criminal penalties.

Soby works with business leaders to help them understand and overcome the challenges relating to business disputes, corporate transactions, compliance, and employment law.   Soby also acts as his corporate clients’ outside general counsel to provide them with the knowledge required to navigate the ever-changing legal landscape.

Due to his impressive corporate law background, his participation on L-1 structuring for complex international clients has been a tremendous value-add as MPLG is able to navigate tricky qualifying relationship issues.

Soby has represented individuals, multinational corporations, cities, government agencies, software companies, consulting companies, founders, investors, officers, directors, franchisees, employers and employees.  His wide range of clients have allowed Soby to develop a unique perspective which he brings to every challenge in order create solutions to help achieve the client’s goals.  

Soby also works with the international non-profit ‘Foundation for Excellence’, which provides scholarships to disadvantaged students in India working in the fields of engineering and medicine.

Soby received his J.D. from Pepperdine University, School of Law, and his B.A from University of California, Los Angeles.  He is admitted to practice in California.
